Robyn is a Senior Lecturer in the Medical Education Unit, Melbourne Medical School, University of Melbourne, Australia.
Dr Woodward-Kron has a PhD in educational linguistics and has been researching and teaching in the areas of intercultural healthcare communication for the past 6 years. She is currently co-lead investigator on an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Grant on emergency healthcare communication for medical and nursing students (http://www.chec.meu.medicine.unimelb.edu.au/), lead investigator on a Victorian department of health development grants for international medical graduate healthcare communication, and a chief investigator on an Australian Research Council Linkage grant to improve healthcare communication. Her interdisciplinary work environment (educational linguistics and health education) and collaborative research provide opportunities to translate healthcare communication research into practice, particularly the development and implementation of multimedia resources for teaching and learning healthcare communication in undergraduate and postgraduate training.
While at ICH, Robyn is investigating health literacy and healthcare communication in medical education.
