Organizational behavior is a course in applied behavioral science that emphasizes how problems, solutions and decision-makers interact in contexts that are both hierarchically structured, as well as changing and uncertain. Organizational behavior brings major insights from behavioral economics, social psychology and organizational sociology to bear on a variety of issues that are central to our capacity to understand, predict and manage companies and other complex organizations. Topics covered include theories of motivation and incentives, individual decisions, negotiation, communication, teamwork and social networks. The main objective of this course is to help master students in management to develop an appreciation for the way in which these organizational elements interrelate and work together to support corporate strategy and organizational performance.
