Attending USI courses as audit students
As a general rule, as long as it is logistically possible, uditori, or auditors - members of the public who are not regular students and do not read for a degree - may be admitted to "sit in and listen" to Bachelor's courses. As such, they are not subjected to any formal entrance requirements.
At the beginning of every semester, Faculties draw up a list of courses open to uditori. Languages courses, exercise classes, seminars, and ateliers are not open to members of the public, since they are reserved exclusively for degree students. Formal enrolment normally takes place at the start of term.
A fee of SFr. 200 is charged for each Bachelor's semester-long course (old-age pensioners benefit from a 50% discount). Students who are registered full-time with another Swiss university may attend free of charge. Certificates of attendance are issued only where these have been requested and stipulated under a particular agreement with a partner university or institution.
