Mario Botta direttore dell'Accademia di architettura - Mario Botta Director of the Academy of Architecture
L'arch. Mario Botta assume da oggi la direzione dell'Accademia subentrando a Valentin Bearth, giunto al termine del suo mandato.
Il mandato di Botta inizia oggi, il 1° settembre 2011, e durerà un biennio.
Durante la conferenza stampa il nuovo Direttore ha presentato il calendario degli eventi pubblici dell’anno accademico 2011-2012, che prevede in particolare un ciclo di conferenze intitolato “Mare Nostrum” promosso con il contributo dell’Istituto studi mediterranei, ovvero una serie di riflessioni sulla città europea e la globalizzazione.
Secondo lo Statuto dell’Accademia (articolo 15), il Consiglio elegge il Direttore fra i professori di ruolo che ne fanno parte. Il mandato del Direttore ha durata biennale ed è rinnovabile di regola per un solo biennio consecutivo.

Architect Mario Botta assumes leadership of the Academy, succeeding Valentin Bearth, who has reached the end of his term. Botta’s mandate begins today, September 1, 2011, and lasts two years.
During the press conference, the new Director presented the public event calendar for the 2011-2012 academic year, which includes, in particular, the “Mare Nostrum” lecture series, supported by a contribution from the Institute for Mediterranean Studies. The cycle will provide a series of reflections on the European city and globalisation.
According to the Academic Statute (Article 15), the Council elects the Director from within the group of tenured professors who comprise it. The mandate of the Director lasts two years and, as a rule, can be renewed for only one consecutive two-year term.
