The organization of the Faculty of Communication Sciences

The Faculty’s governing bodies are the Faculty Council, the Dean and the Faculty Conference.

The Faculty Council: the Faculty’s supreme body consists of all the principal and permanent professors. Assistant and aggregated professors also sit on the Faculty council, along with representatives of the less senior staff and of the students.

The Dean: is elected by the Faculty council for a two year term which may be extended for a further two years.

The Faculty Conference: is consulted on all matters regarding teaching and research. All the titular teachers of official courses, the scientific and operational directors of the active Master’s courses, assistants, scientists, researchers and representatives of undergraduate and graduate students are members of the Faculty Conference.

The Faculty’s operational bodies are the Dean’s Office, the Manager of Studies and the Doctoral Committee.

The Manager of Studies takes decisions regarding the application of the Regulations of Study.

The Doctorate Committee takes decisions about doctorates. It consists of representatives of the Faculty Institutes, and is chaired by the Coordinator of doctoral studies.

The Faculty also has the various services that are common to the other Faculties of USI at its disposal.
