Thesis awards at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society
CONSUMERS ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHERN SWITZERLAND (ACSI) PRIZE
All USI graduates from the Master's programmes of the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society who have written their Master's thesis on subjects that are in line with the statutory aims of the Consumers Association of Southern Switzerland - ACSI (more information at https://acsi.ch/acsi/) can apply for the ACSI Graduate Prize. The assessment of the consistency of applications with the aforesaid aims is the exclusively responsibility of ACSI.
In particular:
The Master's theses submitted must be written on topics that are in line with the areas of interest of the Association, namely on subjects concerning the evolution of the consumer world, with a special focus on the areas of protection, well-being and purchasing patterns.
Prizes
ACSI will award a prize to the author of a thesis written by a USI student, discussed between 1 January and 15 October of the year in question and which has been awarded a final mark of no lower than 9/10.
The prize will consist of:
- 1000 CHF (one thousand francs), before statutory tax;
- Publication of the thesis on the ACSI website.
Applications
Applications are to be sent to the email address [email protected], with the following attached:
- the application form for the prize, with all sections duly completed;
- a summary of the thesis not exceeding two pages in length;
- a copy of the thesis including the title page, in digital format (PDF),
- a brief curriculum vitae.
If the digital format of the thesis is a large file, a link can be provided where it can be downloaded.
Applications received until 15 October of the year in question will be considered valid.
Composition of the jury
The jury will be composed of the standing President of the ACSI, the Dean of the USI Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society and Prof. Francesco Lurati, as coordinator of the Master's Committee of the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, or their delegates.
Awarding of the prize
The jury, at its sole discretion, will select a particularly deserving thesis from among the applications received. The jury will award the prize by 31 October of the year in question. The winner will be notified in good time via telephone or email. The prize will be awarded during the graduation ceremony in the autumn semester.
