Cantonal Meeting for the Elderly Person 2024

This year, on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Associazione Ticinese Terza Età (ATTE) is organizing an afternoon of reflection and discussion on a current topic. After focusing on digitalization in the third and fourth age, this time the spotlight will be on the ongoing revolution, which has been happening for over a decade, in the field of information. The central theme of the meeting will be: “Public Opinion and the Information Revolution. The Role and Responsibility of Mass Media in Shaping Public Opinion Today: Challenges, Opportunities, and Risks, Between Traditional Mass Media and New Media.”

Guests of the roundtable: Mario Timbal, journalist and director of RSI; Eleonora Benecchi, lecturer and researcher at USI; Aldo Sofia, journalist and former director of RSI's news program; and Andrea Leoni, journalist at Teleticino and Liberatv. The meeting will be moderated by Laura Zucchetti, editor-in-chief of Radio3i.

At the end of the roundtable, a small refreshment will be offered.
