Katharina Lobinger re-elected President of the Swiss Association of Communication and Media Research (SACM)

Katharina Lobinger, Associate Professor of Online Communication at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication of the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, has been re-elected President of the Swiss Association of Communication and Media Research (SACM) during the 50th General Assembly held in Chur on 22 May 2025.

She will continue in this role for another three years. In her renewed mandate, Katharina Lobinger will focus on supporting young researchers, promoting internationalisation, and finding effective ways to showcase the multilingual research environment within the SACM.

The SACM (Swiss Association of Communication and Media Research) is the leading academic association for communication and media studies in Switzerland. Since its founding in 1974, it has served as a vital platform for scholarly exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the promotion of research that bridges theoretical and practical perspectives. The association brings together scholars from all linguistic regions of Switzerland and fosters dialogue across national and disciplinary boundaries.
