The 37th British Academy of Management Conference took place at the University of Sussex Business School in Brighton on 5 and 6 September 2023. On this occasion, a group of USI researchers received the Best Full Paper Award for their paper "A Servant of Many Masters: Unpacking the theorising diversity of the single case study".

The study, presented in the Research Methodology category, is the result of an international collaboration between Nele Langebraun (USI PhD student), Michael Gibbert (USI), Bareerah Hafeez Hoorani (Nijmegen School of Management and former PhD student of M.Gibbert), Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki (University of Vienna), Joep Cornelissen (Erasmus University, Rotterdam). The research project focuses on investigating the potential of qualitative methods, especially case studies, to generate new knowledge in the management field. The award-winning study emphasises how context, which is often considered as secondary information, has a significant influence on every aspect of research and explains how to use this information to achieve better results.
