Switzerland is currently not facing any pandemics, but it is likely that future outbreaks will occur. It is essential to learn from the mistakes made during the Covid-19 era to avoid repeating them. Since authorities have decided not to investigate the management of the previous crisis, it is up to civil society to bring attention to this issue. Balancing public health with the functioning of democratic institutions is a complex challenge that requires careful consideration of the roles and limitations of both science and politics.
