Prof. Colin Porlezza appointed to the jury of the 12th edition of Premio di Giornalismo della Svizzera italiana

Associazione ticinese dei giornalisti (ATG) has launched the call for entries for the 12th edition of the Premio di Giornalismo della Svizzera italiana, a journalism award for the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. This year's jury members include Prof. Colin Porlezza, Professor of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). The competition occurs every two years and has a total prize fund of CHF 17,500.
Premio di Giornalismo della Svizzera italiana is open to all professionals enrolled in the Swiss Professional Register (RP) and active in Ticino, who are invited to submit, by Monday, 24 March 2025, articles, photographs, radio, television and multimedia reports published in print or on the web or aired between 1.01.2023 and 31.12.2024.
Seven categories will be evaluated and reformulated to align better with the changes in media that the sector is currently experiencing. These categories are: Editorial and Commentary, Interview, Local News, National News, International News, Photography, and In-Depth Analysis and Investigation. The latter category, the Lillo Alaimo Award, was introduced this year by ATG to honour the historic editor of the weekly publication Il Caffè.
In addition to Professor Colin Porlezza, the prize jury will include eight other members: the journalists Roberto Antonini, Raffaella Brignoni, Patrizia Guenzi, Franca Verda Hunziker, Marisa Marzelli (President of the jury) and Monica Piffaretti; the photographer Gabriele Putzu and the director of the cantonal libraries and the Ticino Library System Stefano Vassere.
The Prize has the collaboration and support of BancaStato and the Department of Education, Culture and Sport (DECS) patronage.
