The WWF drew up a guide in March to university courses with a primary focus on sustainable development or key areas of sustainability. The list also includes two Master's courses offered at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).

The WWF Study Guide lists Bachelor's, Master's, and continuing education programs in Switzerland that focus on sustainability. According to the WWF, "Sustainability-related knowledge and skills, such as systems thinking and the ability to solve problems with foresight, are increasingly in demand in the job market and will become even more crucial in the future." This ensures that individuals who pursue one of the programmes recommended by the WWF Study Guide will have numerous and diverse job opportunities in sustainability and beyond.

The list includes two USI Master's programmes: the first is the Master in Public Management and Policy with a specialisation in Public Policy and Sustainability. Università della Svizzera italiana offers the Master in Public Management and Policy (PMP) in collaboration with the University of Lausanne, the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) and the University of Bern as part of the Swiss Public Administration Network. Supported by the Swiss Confederation, this Master's programme is designed to train qualified professionals who are ready to face the challenges of the contemporary public sector effectively and quickly. The modernisation of the public sector, the relationship between public administration and the business system, and the need for transparency and accountability towards citizens are becoming increasingly important in economic and social systems, together with the strong growth of the non-profit sector and the spread of social enterprises. The PMP Master's programme aims to develop the skills to guide and interpret current transformations, including sustainability, offering concrete responses to global challenges and the need for innovation and reform in modern societies.

The second course suggested is the Master in International Tourism with a Minor in Sustainability. The Master in International Tourism at USI is deeply involved in the UNESCO Chair at USI for the development and promotion of sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites - hosted at our university - and in the Observatory of Tourism (O-Tur) through teaching, applied research projects, Master's thesis opportunities and internships offered to Master's students.
