5 May 2025
Professor Kevin B. Lee, postdoctoral researcher Dr. Evelyn Kreutzer, and doctoral candidates Silvia Cipelletti and Marine de Dardel, all from the Institute for Media and Journalism (IMeG), will present original video essays at the Jeu de Paume in Paris on May 6.
The screening event is co-curated by Prof. Lee, Dr. Kreutzer, and Prof. Johannes Binotto (HSLU) as part of their SNF research project “The Video Essay: Memories, Ecologies, Bodies.” The event is presented in conjunction with the exhibition “Le monde selon l'IA” curated by Prof. Antonio Somaini and Alice Leroy. The exhibition explores the material and social dimensions of artificial intelligence as they emerge in documentary, experimental and artistic films. It deconstructs technophile myths and proposes alternative narratives, questioning the “artificial” character of AI and broadening our conception of intelligence. The exhibition is on display until 21 September 2025.
