The National Museum of Cinema in Torino host an exhibition of video essays made by USI students
"Key Words for Key Films" explores how a new generation engages with cinema in a rapidly changing world. The works are created by graduate students from the course Video Essay Atelier taught by Kevin B. Lee, Locarno Film Festival Professor for the Future of Cinema.
Students chose a single word to capture the essence of a film, then explored its meanings through selected clips.
The result is a cinematic dictionary revealing how language and moving images reflect today's world. Introducing video essays to the museum's collection, the exhibition presents a new format that blends visual analysis with poetic insight: a third path beyond illustration and explanation. The exhibition inaugurates a new space dedicated for video exhibitions in the Museum, and will be on display throughout the summer.
