Institutional Communication Service
23 July 2024
Peter Schulz, a full professor at USI Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, has received the International Francqui Professorship in Belgium from the Francqui Foundation for the academic year 2025-26.
The prestigious accolade promotes inter-university cooperation, which strengthens scientific cooperation with foreign countries and expands the horizons of university staff. The visiting researcher not only contributes to ongoing research but also serves as a source of inspiration for students and faculty.
Each year, the Francqui Foundation awards a number of Professorships, allowing foreign scientists to stay in Belgium for an uninterrupted period of three to six months.
The International Francqui Professorship is intended for scholars of exceptional calibre who are world-renowned and still active in their field.
The responsibilities of the International Francqui Professorship include:
- an Inaugural Lecture;
- active participation in the scientific programme of the groups involved;
- contribution to the training of young scientists through contacts and seminars;
- a final mini-symposium (involving the Francqui Foundation).
