Francesca Galli Awarded the Venus International Women Award for Research in Medieval Literature

Dr Francesca Galli, Lecturer at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), has been awarded the Venus International Women Award in the category Outstanding Woman Researcher in Medieval Literature.
The recognition is presented by the Venus International Foundation as part of the Venus International Women Awards (VIWA). It celebrates female scholars who distinguish themselves internationally through the excellence of their scholarly work and their contributions to advancing research in their respective fields.
The award granted to Francesca Galli highlights her work in the field of medieval literature, an area in which she has distinguished herself through original approaches and her contribution to international research.
Francesca Galli completed her PhD at the Institute of Italian Studies at USI in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Corrado Bologna. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich, working on a project funded by the SNSF (Ambizione grant 201935). In January 2027, she will return to USI thanks to an SNSF Starting Grant (234546).
Each year, the Venus International Women Awards recognise women who have particularly distinguished themselves across various academic and professional sectors, promoting excellence, leadership, and the impact of women's research on the global stage.
