The poet, essayist, and USI professor Fabio Pusterla is to be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Alma Mater – Violani Landi Poetry Award, an accolade awarded by the Centre for Contemporary Poetry at the University of Bologna. The awards ceremony will take place on 17 June 2026 at the Archiginnasio Library in Bologna, as part of the UniVersi 2026 – Creatura festival.
The award pays tribute to one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary Italian-language poetry. Born in Mendrisio in 1957, Fabio Pusterla is the author of numerous poetry collections, a translator, and an essayist. His work, acclaimed for its ability to combine linguistic rigour, civic awareness, and a deep sensitivity towards the landscape and the natural world, has received prestigious awards in both Switzerland and Italy over the years.
The presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award represents a major recognition of Professor Pusterla's artistic and intellectual journey. It also highlights the contribution he has made, through his work as a professor, to the academic community at USI for years.
