Digital technologies are changing the world of media archiving thanks to new and pervasive types of automation. Visuals and sound represent the memory of radio and television, and they are an important common heritage. Making them available through time is a responsibility of the public service to the community.

The seminar “Embracing automation, enhancing discoverability” will be held from June 8th to the 9th on Lugano Campus. During the event, 120+ experts and researchers will discuss about the latest developments in the field of digitalisation.

The seminar is promoted by the Radiotelevisione svizzera (SRG SSR, RSI), the Institute for Media and Journalism of USI FAculty of Communication Sciences and by the  Fédération Internationale des Archives de Télévision (FIAT/IFTA). For two days, an intense programme will shine the light on innovative workflow and practical solutions facing the digital archiving and broadcasting community.
