USI confers diplomas in Communication Sciences to 128 graduates

The Award Ceremony of the USI Faculty of Communication Sciences was held on Friday, November 25th 2016 at 5.15pm in the Aula Magna on Lugano Campus. 50 Bachelors, 62 two-year Masters and 16 PhDs were conferred. Prizes to the best students were also assigned.

USI Rector, Prof. Boas Erez, opened the ceremony followed by Faculty Dean Prof. Andrea Rocci. 128 diplomas in Communication Sciences and interfaculty were conferred. The interfaculty diplomas were achieved by following joint courses with the Faculty of Economics. The ceremony featured speeches by two USI graduates: Valeria Callea (Master in Italian language, literature and culture, currently Italian professor at Liceo 1 di Lugano) and Fungai Alexander Mapondera (Master in Corporate Communication, currently Senior Global Online Manager at Bosch). The event featured musical performances by violinists Veronika and Helena Miecznikowski playing the "Suite for two violins" (1943) by Polish composer and violinist Grazyna Bacewicz (1909-1969).

During the ceremony, important awards were assigned. The ABB/ALSTOM promoted by Dr. Maurice Campagna was awarded to the Bachelor and Master students with the highest average. The Prize Alma Bacciarini, conferred to the best graduate in Language, literature and Italian culture was assigned both to the best Bachelor and Master diplomas
