Those wishing to join the USI Academic Senate can submit their application from today until Wednesday, 8 May. The elections will be held from 13 to 28 May in digital form through the platform www.senato.usi.ch, which is accessible with your own NetID.
The first two-year term of the Senate, a body established in December 2016 by the University Council with the aim of strengthening the cohesion of the University, has come to the end. In the two years of intense work, during which the “senators” have addressed several issues of strategic interest for USI, such as the analysis of the overall training curricula provided by USI, the approval of the financial budget of the University, the review of the processes for promoting faculty, and the approval of the new Students Corporation.
According to the development plans of USI, the role of the Academic Senate will increase considerably, becoming an increasingly influential and central body due to the various tasks assigned to it by the University Council.
The Senate includes all the components of USI, through 10 faculty representatives, 5 junior academic representatives, 4 student representatives, and 5 administrative staff representatives.
