Among the fully digital activities that are taking place in this spring semester, the first Master's thesis and PhD dissertations are also being carried out completely online.

The University has adopted all the necessary measures to give continuity to the academic path of the students and to remain faithful to its mission, also authorising (in temporary derogation from the regulations in force) the Faculties to organise the thesis discussions by videoconference.

RSI, intrigued by this change, interviewed the newly graduated Benedetta Brambilla of the USI Master in International Tourism, who a few days ago defended her thesis from her living room. The Master thesis "The online communication of gastronomy related information for tourists. An analysis of ETC's official tourism websites" was written under the supervision of prof. Lorenzo Cantoni. Dr. Nadzeya Kalbaska was also part of the commission.

Benedetta told the reporter about her experience and the Pro-rector for Education and Student's experience, Lorenzo Cantoni, explained the spirit of this decision to the journalist: "For us it is important that the University does not stop and, above all, that our students can graduate on time, in order to continue their academic or professional career".
