During the weekend before the beginning of the autumn semester, it will be held the welcoming programme for the freshmen “Welcome 2021”. For the occasion, the Student Corporation, on behalf of the student body, is organising an evening social gathering, which will take place on Saturday, 18 September, in the inner courtyard of the East Campus, dedicated in particular to the freshmen who will begin their academic journey at USI next fall. Students are therefore invited to give a hand in organising the event! How? By giving free rein to their creativity and submitting their proposal!

To encourage and foster cohesion among students and improve campus life, the Corporation has decided to promote the project and collect ideas and proposals actively.

The Corporation will award a prize of 250 CHF to the student(s) and the association(s) that will submit the best idea.

The following criteria will be taken into consideration during the evaluation:

  •  The proposal strengthens collaboration and cohesion among students;
  •  Is in line with the goals and spirit of welcoming new first-year students;
  •  Is in line with USI's guiding values: quality, openness and responsibility;
  •  Is economically, socially, institutionally and environmentally sustainable.

The ideas submitted will be judged by:

  • The Student Working Group, represented by the Corporation and recognised student associations;
  • The Institutional Planning Committee to implement "Welcome 2021" in collaboration with USI governance.
