As part of the research project {LesFablem} Fable, Emblem, Poem, Performance : Renaissance Word and Image Tales (FNS 218082) six workshops are offered which investigate word and image narratives according to the representative genres of fable, emblem, poem and performance in the Renaissance. The workshops are held in two series, Fable, Rebus, Emblem} Source, Material, Image (AY 2024-2025) and Poem, Performance, Event} Word, Digital, Context (AY 2025-2026). The series address different types of textual and visual narratives through a theoretical introduction and a practical workshop led by experts in the field.

The practical workshop aims to train students in technical skills useful for the realization of a digital project that can be developed during the workshops, as part of their Master's or doctoral thesis, and in the form of a three-month internship within {LesFablem} research project.
The workshops are in collaboration with the Institute of Italian Studies, the Institute of History and Theory of Art and Architecture, the Academy of Architecture at USI, and from the partner institutions Cambridge Digital Humanities at University of Cambridge and Alta Scuola in Media, Communication and Performance at the Catholic University of Milan. The sessions will be held alternately on-site and online. Students will have the opportunity to use the tools learned during the practical workshop session to create their own project, which will be presented during the following session.

Students can participate either in a single workshop or in all workshops by sending a brief c.v. with an expression of interest to [email protected][email protected]. It is possible to attend the series entirely online. Participation is open to the public.

In case you have a project that you would like to pursue, you can include an abstract of 250 words with a project description.
