The Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) welcomes on its Lugano campus a delegation of Chinese hotel managers and tourism professionals, on a 15-day tour of Switzerland for the 9th Heilongjiang Short-term training programme, coordinated by the FNHW School of Business (University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.

The USI leg of the tour is organised by Lorenzo Cantoni, Full professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, and is dedicated to the relationship between information technologies and communication and tourism: eTourism.

Through a series of short presentations, participants will be able to address a number of emerging issues: from online reviews of hotels to tour operator training, to the research carried out by webatelier.ch on the eye movements of website visitors or augmented reality mobile application users.

The delegates will also learn about the Master in International Tourism, a graduate-level study programme jointly coordinated by the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Communication Sciences at USI, and the UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites.
