The project "The Swiss Football Association’s focus on talent: A study on promoting the discovery, development and sustainable success of football talent" was awarded funding by the FIFA Research Scholarship. This scholarship aims to promote research on football conducted by young researchers. In interaction with the current SNSF project co-directed by Prof. Mengis (USI) and Prof. Nicolini (WBS) "A Practice-theoretical Account of Organizational Attention" studying attention as emerging from multiple, locally situated, and materially mediated practices on the ground, the empirical "focus on talent" of this project will allow to explore further how talent is discovered and developed over time, offering unique practical and scholarly insights for sports management and talent management. The grant will also allow further exploration of the long-term processual aspects of organizational attention in distributed contexts, a critical area for current attention-based research.
