New publication: How financial platforms script class differences

A new article by IMCA's Associate Professor Léna Pellandini-Simányi, together with PhD researchers Cristina Paradiso and Robert Musil, has been published in the Swiss Journal of Sociology. The paper examines how digital financial platforms shape socioeconomic inequalities, arguing that the scripts embedded in platforms targeted at different social classes actively foster class differences in financial decision-making, beyond the role of individual preferences, habitus, or constraints. The study contributes to the sociology of finance, the study of class formation, and the performativity of marketing.
