Organizational Attention

11 aprile 2025

It was our great pleasure to invite Prof. Pernilla Bolander (Department of Management and Organization, Stockholm School of Economics) to USI Lugano to learn more about her recent research on Identity work in talent management programs.

Her research focuses on HR-processes such as talent management, performance management, promotion and employee selection. Specifically, she is interested in how HR-processes are carried out in practice, how employees are categorized and quantified through various HR-processes, and how HR-processes shape employees’ understandings of themselves, their work, their careers and the organizations they work for. She also studies first-time managers in the context of everyday work.

Pernilla's stay led to inspiring conversations regarding the attentional dimension of talent management and performance management, as well as their interrelations in practice. We are grateful for the valuable exchanges we've had and look forward to continuing our conversation about the dynamics of organizational attention and talent management!
